SAMAP is a technical forum to engage the submarine community in aspects of Submarine Air Monitoring and Air Purification.
The international submarine community - both nuclear and diesel - is experiencing increased demands on its sailors and the atmosphere in which they perform. As operational duration increases, allowable contaminant level requirements decrease, and capabilities can only be advanced with the introduction of new technologies and new systems on board.
The submarine atmosphere of today and the future require technology advancements, improved practices and system solutions to meet the goal of obtaining a safe, submersible environment. Every two years a group of industry related professionals gather to discuss their experiences and new technologies. At the 2009 Conference in San Diego, California, experts in the industry from France, Canada, United States, Singapore, Japan, United Kingdom, Australia, The Netherlands, Italy, and Germany were present.
